El Zapato, located in gorgeous Santa Barbara, California, is an amazing (Dr. Seuss meets Gaudi) three-story home with unique designs and art on all levels. It is designed in the shape of a shoe, hence the name El Zapato – Spanish for shoe. The first level has the two Lobster Studios, decorated with Lobster tiles and vintage 1950 Paint-by-Number Maine lighthouse paintings. It also had a lovely private courtyard with lemon trees and outdoor living space. Within walking distance is State Street, Cabrillo Beach and the farmer’s market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It is a perfect vacation rental in Santa Barbara. The second level of El Zapato (the Green Cabana) has eye-popping views of the mountains, colorful handmade tiles throughout, as well as an outdoor lounging and sleeping Cabana. The third floor (Turquoise Penthouse) provides 360-degree views of the entire city and mountains and is the most romantic and dramatic of all levels. The rooftop, accessed from the Turquoise Penthouse, has a full seating area, bathroom and sleeping turret overlooking all of Santa Barbara.
